About Miss River Valley

Lainey Donoghue is excited to be back for her third year at Miss Minnesota. She is a 6-country international runway model, disproving unrealistic beauty standards as a size medium, “plus size” in the industry. Passionate about model diversity and confidence building, her Community Service Initiative “My Crown”, is about showing today’s youth that everyone wears an invisible crown, they just might not see it yet. At the heart of her initiative is My Crown Magazine, a model magazine furthering empowerment in the Minneapolis community and beyond.

Born and raised in Maple Grove, Lainey has always been passionate about entrepreneurship and the arts industry. As a professional freelance Hair and Makeup Artist in the Twin Cities, she also went on to earn her Associate’s in Business and is currently pursuing a bachelor's at Metropolitan State University with a goal of turning her mission of empowerment into a full-service talent development agency.

In her free time, you can find Lainey traveling, singing, figure skating, skiing, and collecting her favorite stuffed animals, Webkinz. She’s excited to see YOU at Treasure Island next June! You can follow her journey at @missrivervalleymn, and her magazine @mycrownmagazine.
