About Miss St. Croix Valley
My name is Sonia Sukumar, and I am incredibly honored to serve as your Miss St. Croix Valley 2027! I am excited to spend this year building meaningful connections and celebrating the people, organizations, and communities that make this region so special.
I hold a B.A. in Business Management and Creative Writing from Goucher College, an M.S. in Marketing Analytics from Johns Hopkins University, and I am currently a J.D. candidate at Mitchell Hamline School of Law. My passion for advocacy inspired my Community Service Initiative, The Legal Lighthouse. The Legal Lighthouse is dedicated to preventative justice through legal literacy education, helping Minnesotans better understand their rights, recognize when they may need legal assistance, and know where to turn for trustworthy resources.
As Miss St. Croix Valley, I am especially excited to bring The Legal Lighthouse throughout the region through community partnerships, educational resources, and conversations that make the law feel more approachable and accessible. Beyond my CSI, I look forward to highlighting local organizations, supporting community events, and learning from the people who call the Stillwater area home.
Outside of law and advocacy, I teach Tap and Bollywood dance at Zumbrota Dance Studio and am a proud cat mom to Brahma.
I am excited to show up, serve with purpose, build genuine relationships, and use my voice to help others find theirs. I cannot wait to see where this year takes us!
